As a lister, how can I use OpenSooq safely and securely?

Like any commercial arrangement with a third party, it is important that you take steps to ensure your safety and security and to safeguard your rights. For example:

1. Provide full product or service details: Include a detailed description of the product or service in your listing, and enclose recent and clear pictures of any product.

2. Don't share personal details: Do not share any personal details that a third party does not strictly need to complete the purchase (for example, your home address).

3. Check their rating: If any buyer reaches out to you using the OpenSooq application, check their rating on OpenSooq as this could be helpful to indicate other users' experience with them.

4. Meet in public: If the terms of the sale are agreed, always meet in a public place or in the presence of one or more persons.

5. Receive money first: Make sure that you receive the sale price in full or in part in cash, in your bank account, or in your electronic wallet, before you hand over the product or service. Any agreement for future payments should be made in writing or via text messages.

6. Get confirmation of receipt: Ask the purchaser to confirm receipt of the product or service, and their condition (and to include pictures).

7. Report any issues: Reach out to OpenSooq to report any fraud so we can take appropriate action against the other user's account. In addition, always report any fraud to local police authorities who will be able to advise you on what legal action you can take.

8. Rate your counterparty: Where possible, always leave a review of the counterparty on the OpenSooq platform to ensure that others are aware of your experience.
